Timeline of Applied Technologies

1982 MIT’s Bruce Brisson introduces what many people regard as the world’s first purposefully built audio cable (Pat. No. 4,538,023), a solution that would become the standard of all modern high performance interconnects.
1984-1999 After years of R&D, MIT announced the development of the Efficiency Scale, a test and measurement program that correlates sonic qualities of cable with test-bench performance. Shortly after, MIT introduces Multipole Technology, which passively and in parallel corrects many of the problems that are inherent in ordinary cable designs.
2000 MIT introduces the Oracle series of music interfaces. This technology built upon previous Multipole designs which optimized the cable’s ability to articulate at each octave.
2006 MIT introduces Maximum Articulation Technology to the Oracle MA speaker interface. When Maximum Articulation was added, MIT included the optimization of harmonics, which also helped to optimized timbre.
Maximum Articulation Technology is utilized in the products that are available in Authorized Brick and Mortar stores. To find a retailer near you, please visit our dealer locator.
2010 MIT introduces Fractional Articulation Technology (F.A.T.) in High Definition and High Resolution products. With F.A.T., interval optimization (notes within the octave) is achieved! The result was an interface that was purposefully engineered and built to optimize tone and timbre. Going beyond the octaves and their harmonics, this technology optimized all of the notes of the music found within the octave, increasing the density and the natural textures of the music.
Fractional Articulation Technology is utilized in both MIT Cables High-End cable product lines:
MA Series (available in Authorized Brick and Mortar stores) and 2C3D Series (available through authorized Online Retailers)
2012 MIT introduces Super High Definition products, adding yet another level of performance to Fractional Articulation Technology (F.A.T.). With SHD, tone, timbre and textures can all be optimized for your system with a simple selection of a three position articulation switch, giving the user the ability to select Standard Definition, High Definition, or Super High Definition.
Beginning in 2012, Super High Definition F.A.T. is utilized in the MA Series available in Authorized Brick and Mortar stores. To find a retailer near you, please visit our dealer locator.

Matrix HD 60 Speaker Interfaces
With 60 poles of articulation, the Matrix High Definition 60 Speaker Interface boasts a 39% increase in performance over its predecessor, the Magnum MA, and comes in at a price that is 25% less! Combining the best features of the Magnum MA with its big brother, the Matrix Super HD 90, the Matrix 60 delivers the broadest range of features and performance for the least amount of money.
Rather than the user selectable feature of the Oracle Matrix Super HD 90, F.A.T. has been fixed into the interface’s network boxes. Though this interface does not have the traditional CVT® Coupler at the input, the coupler circuitry has been included in a larger enclosure at the input combined with F.A.T. technology.
Matrix HD 38 Speaker Interfaces
The Matrix High Definition 38 Speaker Interface comes to play with 38 poles of articulation, drastically outperforming everything else in its so called class. Improving over its predecessor, the AVt® MA, you’ll hear:

JUST RELEASED—
Oracle Generation 3, Now with F.A.T.
Still looking for the most natural and lifelike sound reproduction? Most audiophiles would compare the audible improvement of the Fractional Articulation Technology (F.A.T.) to an upgrade of loudspeakers or other components. Even more are surprised to discover that installing MIT’s HR interfaces will return more of a system upgrade for less money than the usual component upgrade. Why? Because "just cable" is an inefficient, single articulation pole low-pass filter and is extremely inefficient at transporting power equally across the entire audio bandwidth. MIT’s Generation 3 HR speaker interfaces with Multipole™ Technology are built using the proven 2C3D technology platform.
These newly released products are available exclusively through MIT's authorized Online Distributors. You can find links to these authorized partners by clicking here.

Audio Interfaces
MIT Cables’ mission has always been to help audiophiles experience the best sound they can by solving the problems inherent in standard wire. This mission began back in 1981 when Bruce Brisson designed the first purposefully built high-end audio cable: Interlink Reference, built by Monster Cable. It was the first audio cable in which everyone could hear the difference. All audio cables alter the signal that is passing through them because they act as inefficient low pass filters; that is to say they are inefficient at transporting power. How efficient or inefficient a cable is at any frequency within the audio bandwidth is what makes one manufacturers cable sound different than another’s.
MIT goes beyond this. We start by engineering all of our speaker cables and interconnects with the best possible materials.. Then we add to them our patented Multipole Technology in parallel to the main conductors. These networks optimize the transportable power, at predetermined points (or Articulation Poles), throughout the audio bandwidth. The more articulation poles in the cable the better the cable will sound. When you connect an MIT cable up to your system, you will enjoy recorded music in an entirely new way. The background is black, increasing the contrast between the instruments and voices. A lifelike soundstage opens up with pinpoint imaging at any volume level.
More than just cable: It’s not a saying. It’s what we do to help you experience recorded music in a completely new way.
Video Products
In addition to our line of breakthrough audio products, MIT manufactures a professional grade HDMI cable that will exceed current HDMI standards. What does that mean? It means that you can enjoy high definition technology NOW, and be prepared for whatever comes down the high definition pipeline for years to come. Not all HDMI cables are the same. Just because a cable has the HDMI logo, it does not guarantee it will have the bandwidth or speed that is necessary for today's high-end HDTV systems. The current standard for High Speed or "category 2" HDMI cables is 10.2 Gbps (340Mhz) which can handle 1080p signals, including those at increased color depths and/or increased refreshed rates.
MIT Cables HDMI 3D Rated cables have been certified by HDMI™ ACT Testing. Also, our HDMI products are able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors with a resolution of 2560 x 1600!
More than just cable: It's how we get prepared for the future.
Power Products
Continuing our dedication to providing our customers with the most technologically advanced audio and video products available anywhere in the world today. Our engineers have created a unique suite of patented MIT power filter products that address problems created by dirty power. Whatever your passion; musician, recording engineer, audiophile, or video professional, MIT offers the best noise eliminating solutions, like the Z Series products from MIT. All Z filters, are patented parallel AC FilterpolesTM , a tuned LCR technology that provides clean power without reflections. With MIT's Z circuitry working to clean, condition, and protect your AV system, you will instantly enjoy "blacker" blacks, better color saturation, and increased shadow detail; movie sound tracks will deliver dialog and background music with theater-like quality.
MIT's Z circuitry also provides PFC (Power Factor Correction), by controlling the phase angle of the inbound 60hz AC sine wave for maximum efficiency. Click here for PFC explained by the US Department of Energy.
