More than just cables: What's the difference with MIT Cables ?
It's the difference between an audio cable and an audio interface.

MIT Cables founder Bruce Brisson began purposefully designing audio cables in the 1970's after encountering the sonic problems inherent in cables typical of the day. He later founded Music Interface Technologies in 1984 after patenting and licensing his early designs. This collaboration produced some of the industry’s most successful and enduring products.

Over the ensuing three decades, MIT Cables has risen to prominence in the audio industry as the technology leader in audio and video cabling, as well as power line treatment. MIT Cables are used to interface the finest professional recording studios throughout the world.

MIT Cables' core audio cable technology is our exclusive Poles of Articulation, named after the fact that every audio cable has a single point where it is most efficient at storing and transporting energy. At this point in the audio frequency spectrum, the cable will articulate best, and represents the cables' particular Articulation Pole.

Utilizing our Poles of Articulation, we can provide levels of performance for each listener’s needs, from our Oracle Series of interfaces for the ultimate experience, to our StyleLine series of interfaces for the budget-minded audiophile. Our newest SL-Matrix series of audio interfaces offers our legendary High End performance distilled down to more reasonable price points.

Additionally, we offer our legendary Z Series of power line treatment and filtering products, as well as specialty offerings such as video cables, USB cables, and custom installation products.

"Let us help you make the most of your A/V components!"

Robert Harley reviews the Oracle MA-X SHD

Cost-No-Object Interconnect of the Year

MIT Oracle MA-X2

The Oracle MA-X2 delivers the same sonic virtues as the MA-X SHD loudspeaker cables, creating a synergy that allows each interface to realize its full potential. Soundstages are vast (when the recording allows for it). The MIT paints a more realistic picture of a recording venue’s size, shape, and acoustic by virtue of its resolution of micro-details. RH also find that this interface system presents a tremendous sense of bloom around image outlines, as well as “action,” the sense of hearing the expanding envelope of sound as an instrument projects its energy into the room. As with the MA-X SHD loudspeaker cables, the MA-X2 interconnects have a warmth and saturation that reveal the power of lefthand piano lines, the body, weight, and size of doublebass and cello, and the “purring” quality of a Fender Precision bass. These are the best-sounding interconnects RH has heard. (RH, 234)

Cost-No-Object Loudspeaker Cable of the Year

MIT Oracle MA-X SHD

This mega-priced cable pushes the boundaries of cable pricing, but it also pushes the boundaries of what’s possible with a cost-no-object assault on the state of the art. the “SHD” in the name stands for super high definition, which is what these cables deliver in spades. but that description doesn’t do these cables justice. Although high in definition, the MA-X SHD is anything but analytical or ruthlessly revealing. rather, the MA-X SHD has a wonderful warmth, richness, and harmonic density, particularly through the bass and into the lower midrange. this character sets the stage for a completely relaxed and unfatiguing presentation, which, combined with that high resolution, results in the best of both worlds—detail and ease. finally, MA-X SHD is unparalleled in its portrayal of soundstage depth, air between instrumental images, and a tangible sense of space. (RH, 234)

The Absolute Sound - Robert Harley MIT Cables Oracle SHD review

Robert Harley reviews the Oracle MA-X SHD

"The MIT MA-X SHD loudspeaker cable and MA-X-C interconnects are simply without peer"

"...over the top. The sense of seeing through the soundstage to instruments at the back of the hall, and hearing them as separate objects rather than just part of the overall sonic tapestry, is alone worth the price of admission."

MIT StyleLine Series

Dagogo Reviews the StyleLine Series

"In terms of imaging, once again the MIT StyleLine cables did nothing but impress. Images were right-sized and rendered beautifully. Image stability in fact was exemplary, as I noted not only detailed layering of information behind the front plane of the speakers, but also impressive imaging that extended well beyond the outer edges of the speakers. This serves to confirm that indeed, the phase coherency of the MIT StyleLine is not only excellent but well beyond what anyone would typically expect from a cable system in this price class. I have several live recordings in which the vocalists have a tendency of turning their heads side to side as they sing. In my experience, it is rare that a cable can retain that almost eerie quick change in perspective and phase and present it in a believable fashion. I was delighted to find that the MIT StyleLine cables did this with ease.

MIT StyleLine Series

MIT Cables’ interfaces are engineered to have multiple Articulation Poles optimized for the lows, mids, and highs. Our Poles of Articulation synergistically work together to transport the audio signal with a more even response than just a single cable, as if multiple cables are being used together. Multipole Technology provides better bass, better midrange, and better highs.

Below is an example Articulation Plot of the SL12 StyleLine Speaker Interface.

NEW Release—The SL-Matrix and StyleLink Digital USB are Here!

MIT Cables is pleased to announce the release of the SL-Matrix Digital USB - The latest high-performance USB cable for the computer audiophile. Digital audiowaveforms are in the shape of square waves, and the highest fidelity is achieved when a USB cable preserves the original squared shape. Most cables tend to overshoot or undershoot on those square waves as each pulse starts and stops, as well as exhibiting impedance mismatches between each data leg, creating timing (phase) errors known as jitter.

MIT’s SL-Matrix USB audio cables employ proprietary designs that minimize jitter. The two data legs are carefully matched and stabilized in impedance, and noise filters at each end of the cable provide equal filtering between each signal leg. This differential construction allows the USB device to check for residual errors. By reducing these timing errors and lowering the noise floor, your AV equipment’s error correction circuitry will need to do less work, allowing your system to do its job better – getting all of the music to your ears.

The power legs of the USB cable are carefully shielded separately to avoid interfering with the data, and the entire cable is built with top quality materials and careful attention to detail. These details result in dramatic sound quality improvements, which will give you more accurate musical timbre and texture, increased clarity and detail, a larger and more precise image and soundstaging, and greater dynamics.
